When I designed this sock pattern, I was blogging exclusively at Creating a Family Home, so I thought I'd write about them here now, and make this the place for original pattern posting.

My Birds in Flight Socks were my self-imposed sock-of-the-month-club socks for March 2011. They feature a zig zag lace pattern that looks like birds the way kids draw them flying in the sky against a tonal colorway Knit Picks calls Blue Yonder. (Yarn is Stroll Tonal.) The birds are set off by seed stitch diamonds and flanked by seedstitch borders. It’s a wintry design that signals spring is on its way.

I enjoyed designing these socks, and I love wearing them. I especially like shortrow heels. I think I'll break shortrow heels down another time, and will try to investigate why so many patterns call for the unnattractive heel flap. I'm over it!

i just love these socks and the colours of the yarn in ur last post are beautiful....i feel like crocheting. But it's too hot here. It's the hottest place of our country, these days temp during day is around 39c....i am always amazed to see how quickly u finish one knitting project and move to another and everything u knit looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Himadri! I'm sorry it's so hot by you. I hope you have air conditioning! Look forward to seeing what you crochet when the temperatures cool down. : )
